Why can't I download my resume as a Word file?
DOCX export is Premium, and it is offered only on Smart resumes. PDF export is free on every plan.
DOCX export has two separate requirements, and it is easy to meet one and still be stopped by the other. If you need a file to send right now, Download PDF is free and unlimited on every plan.
Most likely cause: DOCX export is a Premium feature
On the free plan Download DOCX appears with a Premium badge, and the server answers DOCX export is a Premium feature. PDF export is available on every plan.
That split is deliberate, because PDF is what most employers and application forms ask for and every modern applicant tracking system reads it. Premium DOCX is there for the postings that specifically want Word, or for when you want an editable copy to work on offline.
You are on Premium and the option still is not there
DOCX is offered on Smart resumes, the ones held as structured sections in the resume builder. On a Classic resume, which is a single block of pasted or uploaded text, the Download DOCX option is hidden and the server answers DOCX export is only available for smart resumes.
Upgrading will not change this, because it is not a plan limit. A Word file is assembled section by section, and a Classic resume has no sections to assemble from. Move the resume into the builder first, then export it.
The download failed rather than being blocked

PDF is not downloading either
PDF generation failed. Please try again. and No content found to generate PDF point at the resume rather than at the file format, so the format is not what to change. Open the resume, confirm the preview draws, and try the download again from there.
