Keyword Boost

Keyword Boost costs 3 credits, takes about 15 to 30 seconds, and works from a job scan, so run the scan first.

It takes the keywords the scan found in the posting and works them into the bullets and summaries you already have. The card describes it as: "Adds missing keywords to your existing content without adding new bullets or sections."

Nothing is applied automatically. Every change arrives as a suggestion you read against your current wording and decide on, one at a time.

What it changes

It rewrites existing wording across your resume:

• Your professional summary
• Bullets and summaries on work experience, projects, volunteering, and education

It rewrites what is already there rather than adding to it, which is why a job entry with no bullets and no summary is left alone. There is no text in it for the keywords to go into.

What it never touches

• Your skills list. It is held back before the rewrite and restored afterwards, so the list you curated comes through untouched.
• Your name and contact details.
• Job titles, company names, and dates.
• Bullet count. Keyword Boost never adds a bullet, so your resume comes out the same length it went in. Use Full Rewrite when you want new ones.

Where to find it

In the resume builder, open the AI tab in the right-hand panel and look under Job Tailoring.

You can also pick it from the Optimize dropdown next to Create Scan, which creates the scan and starts the optimization in one step, so a new job posting goes straight through to a tailored draft.

Why the card is locked

Three things can gray the card out.

No job scan yet. The tooltip reads "Create a job scan to use this feature." Keyword Boost works from the keywords a scan found, so it has nothing to aim at until one exists, and the card carries a Create Scan shortcut on hover to save you the trip.

Unsaved changes. On a Free account you see Unsaved Changes and are asked to save and rescore before running an AI tool, so the rewrite works on your current text rather than an older copy. The Save & Rescore button in the alert does both in one press.

No experience to work on. The alert is Missing Proper Data, and the fix is to add at least one work experience, project, or volunteering entry. Keyword Boost rewrites the bullets you have, so it needs some to start from.

Keyword Boost or Full Rewrite

Pick Keyword Boost when your bullets are broadly right and you want this particular job's language in them. It is the cheaper and faster of the two, and because it never changes your resume's length, it will not push a tight one-page layout onto a second page.

Pick Full Rewrite when the content itself needs work, or when the scan shows gaps that no existing bullet covers and something new has to be written.
