What we do with your resume

Your resume is not sold, not shared with recruiters, and not public. Here is exactly who processes it and why, and how to delete it.

Your resume is not sold, not licensed to anyone, and never has been. It is not shared with recruiters or employers, it is not public, and it is not indexed by search engines.

That is the short answer. The rest of this page names everyone who does touch your data and says what each of them receives, so you can judge it for yourself rather than take our word for it.

Who processes your resume

Your resume content goes to exactly one outside company.

OpenAI receives your resume text, along with the job description when there is one, in two situations: when we read an uploaded file into sections, and when you run one of the AI tools. In both cases the text is sent so the feature can produce its result and hand it back to you, and it is not used to train models.

Nothing else you upload leaves our systems. Your scans, your match reports, your tracker, and your saved resumes are stored by us and processed by us.

Who processes your other details

The services below never receive your resume. Each one gets only the details it needs to do the job it is there for.

Who inside SkillSyncer can see your resume

Staff can open an account to investigate a problem you have reported or to deal with abuse, and those are the only two reasons anyone here looks.

If you are on a coach team, your coach can open the scans you have run, because reviewing those scans is what the coach is there to do. They cannot see resumes you have not scanned, and nothing else of yours is shared with the team. See What a coach can and cannot see in a member's account.

If you are not on a team, no other user can see anything of yours at all.

Is my resume used to train AI models?

No. We do not use your resume to train models, and the AI provider does not train on data sent through the API we use.

The free bullet point examples shown against missing keywords are not taken from other users' resumes either. They come from a shared library written in advance for common job titles and keywords.

Deleting your data

You can delete a single resume or a single scan from the app at any time, and it is gone when you do.

Deleting your whole account destroys every resume, every scan and report, and your excluded keywords, with no way to recover them once it is done. What remains is a stripped record that carries no name, no email, and none of your content, kept only for billing history, aggregate statistics, and fraud prevention.
