What counts as a seat?

A seat is one person on your team, and it does not matter whether that person is a coach or a client. Both use one seat.

A seat is one person on your team, and the pricing page says it plainly: a seat can be used for either a coach or a client.

That distinction is the one people miss at purchase. A 10-seat plan is not 10 clients plus however many coaches you need on top. It covers 10 people in total, in whatever mix suits your practice.

A worked example on Spark

Spark includes 10 seats. A coaching practice might use them like this:

  • You, the owner: 1 seat
  • 2 coaches you work with: 2 seats
  • Clients: 7 seats

That comes to 10, so the plan is full. Adding a third coach means coaching 6 clients rather than 7, because the new coach takes one of the same 10 seats.

Role does not change the cost

A Super Coach, a Coach, and a Member all cost the same, one seat each. Changing someone's role frees nothing up, and promoting a client to coach permissions adds nothing to your bill.

Roles control what a person can do on the team, not what that person costs you. See Roles and permissions.

A seat is a person, not a login you can share

Everyone on the team needs their own SkillSyncer account, because invitations go to a specific email address and the person accepting has to be signed in as that address. That is also what keeps each member's resumes and scans separate.

A person can only be on one team at a time, so someone who already belongs to another coach's team cannot take a seat on yours until they leave that one.

Freeing up a seat

Remove someone from the team and their seat becomes available for the next person you invite. Removing them does not delete anything they own, which is covered in Removing a member, leaving a team, and what happens to their data.

It is worth telling the person what changes when the seat goes, since they lose unlimited scans and the rest of the premium tier. Their account, their resumes, and their scan history all stay with them.

What a seat buys the person sitting in it

Full premium access for as long as your coach plan is active, which means unlimited job match scans, DOCX export, live match scoring, and as many base resumes as they want to keep.
