Managing your subscription

Where to find your renewal date, how to change the card on file, and what to do when you want to move between Premium Monthly and Premium Quarterly.

Everything about your subscription sits on one page, so start by going to Settings, then Subscription. Your renewal date, your card, and your plan are all there.

What the badges mean

Two badges sit at the top of the page, and between them they tell you the state of your subscription and the date that state changes.

BadgeWhat it means
Green Active with Renews: {date}Your subscription is running and will bill again on that date
Gray On Trial with Trial Ends: {date}You are inside a trial period
Red Canceled with Ends: {date}You have canceled, and you keep Premium until that date

The plan name above the badges is the plan you are on, for example Premium Monthly.

If you are on the free plan

The same page shows a Free badge with Scans Left and AI Credits Left, followed by the full plans picker, so you can check what you have left and subscribe in the same place. Subscribing from here sends you to Stripe Checkout and brings you straight back with Premium already active.

Changing the card on file

This takes about 30 seconds.

  1. Under Payment method, click Edit.
  2. Enter the new card details.
  3. Click Update Card.

The new card replaces the one you had, and only one card is ever kept on file, so there is nothing to tidy up afterwards. Once it saves, the card shows as Ending with {last4} alongside its expiry date.

If the card is declined, the message you get back names the reason rather than failing generically, so read it before you retry with the same details. See Why is my payment failing?.

Moving between Premium Monthly and Premium Quarterly

Moving between the two Premium plans happens between billing periods rather than inside one, so it takes two steps instead of a single button. Here is the sequence.

  1. Cancel your current subscription. You keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  2. When that period ends, the plans picker comes back on the Subscription page.
  3. Subscribe on the plan you want.

You never pay for both at once, because the new subscription only starts after the old one has run out. The trade is that the move lands on your renewal date rather than the day you decide, so it is worth checking that date before you cancel.

Canceling is covered step by step in Canceling your subscription.

Invoices and receipts

Individual plans do not carry an invoice history page in the app, so email support@skillsyncer.com with the date of the charge if you need a copy for expenses or your own records.

When you are billed

Payment is taken on the day you subscribe, and the subscription renews automatically on the cycle you chose at purchase, with Quarterly billing every 3 months and Monthly every month. Your renewal date is always the one shown in the Renews: {date} badge.

What happens if a renewal fails

Your access follows the subscription, so while Stripe still counts it as active you keep Premium, and if it lapses you drop back to the free allowances. Nothing you have made is deleted either way, which is covered in Canceling your subscription.
