Canceling your subscription
Canceling takes seconds, keeps Premium running until the end of the period you paid for, and deletes nothing. Here is exactly what changes and when.
Canceling takes about 10 seconds, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing is deleted and nothing stops working the moment you click the button.
How to cancel
- Go to Settings, then Subscription.
- Scroll to Cancel Subscription.
- Click Cancel.
You will see the confirmation Your Subscription has been canceled. Nothing else is asked of you, and your access carries on unchanged until the end date.

What changes straight away
The two badges at the top of the page turn red and read Canceled and Ends: {date}, where that date is the last day of the period you have already paid for.
Until then everything works exactly as it did, including unlimited scans, 250 AI credits a week, DOCX export, live match scoring, and as many base resumes as you want.
In place of the Cancel Subscription section you now get a Resume Subscription section, which is how you change your mind without buying anything again.
Changing your mind
Click Resume under Resume Subscription at any point before the end date, and you will see Your Subscription has been resumed. Your paid membership carries on from your original billing cycle, so the renewal date you had before is the renewal date you keep.
Once the end date has passed, resuming is no longer an option and you subscribe again as a new customer would.
What happens when the period ends
Your account drops back to the free plan. Nothing you have created is removed.
You keep: every resume you have created, every scan report you have run, and your excluded keywords list.
You go back to: 2 scan credits a week, rolling over to a balance cap of 10, and 10 AI credits a week that reset rather than accumulate.
You lose access to: DOCX export, live match scoring, and creating additional base resumes. If you already have more than 1 base resume, all of them stay on your account, though you cannot add another while you are on the free plan.
Refunds
Purchases are not refunded. That includes the unused part of a period you have already paid for.
Canceling is the mechanism instead: it stops the next charge while leaving your access running until the period you have paid for actually ends, so nothing you have bought is taken away early.
There are two things worth knowing before you buy.
- Deleting your account cancels immediately rather than at the end of the period, and the time left in that period goes with it. Cancel first, then delete later if you still want to. See Deleting your account and your data.
- The free plan has no time limit. If you are unsure whether Premium is worth it, you can go back to Free and keep using SkillSyncer rather than needing a refund to undo the decision.
A charge you do not recognize is a different matter from a refund request. Email support@skillsyncer.com with the date and the amount so we can trace it.
Deleting your account is not the same as canceling
If you delete your account instead of canceling, the subscription is canceled immediately rather than at the end of the period, and the remainder of the time you paid for goes with it.
The order matters, so if you want to use what you have already bought, cancel first, let the period run out, and delete afterwards. See Deleting your account and your data.
