What a coach team is and who it's for

A coach team is one paid plan, one owner, and a group of people who all get premium access through it. Here is what the plan covers and where its boundaries are.

A coach team is one coach plan, paid for by one person, that covers everyone on it. Every member gets full premium access through their own account, and coaches can open a member's scans directly instead of asking them to send a screenshot.

Who it's for

The plans page describes the audience in one line: career coaches, someone representing an institution with students, or anyone who needs accounts in bulk.

The shape that fits best is a coach with clients. You pay once, each of your clients gets a premium account, and you can see the job match scans they run, which is what makes a coaching conversation possible without a file exchange.

What everyone on the team gets

Each member keeps their own account, their own resumes, and their own scans, so membership changes their tier rather than their workspace. In Settings, under Subscription, a member sees one line: Your team membership provides access to all the premium features.

Members never pay, never enter a card, and never manage a subscription. All of that sits with you as the owner.

What a coach can do that a member cannot

Coaches can see the list of team members, open the scans a member has run, and run a scan on a member's behalf. Those three things are the entire coaching surface, and Scanning on behalf of a member covers the last of them in detail.

Three rules that never bend

One team per owner. Your account can own exactly one team, so a second team means a second account.

One team per person. Someone who already belongs to another team cannot join yours, and inviting them returns This user is already a member of another team. They have to leave the other team before your invitation will go through.

A team needs an active coach plan. An active plan is what makes team creation available, and team features switch off when the plan stops. See What happens when a team subscription lapses.

What a team is not

A coach team is not a shared workspace. Resumes, scans, and excluded keywords all belong to the individual who created them, and nothing is pooled or copied between accounts. Coaches get read access to member scans, and that is the extent of it.

Buyers are most often surprised by that boundary, so it has its own article: What a coach can and cannot see in a member's account.

Creating the team

The form appears at Settings, then Team, as soon as your coach plan is active. It is a single screen, and you fill it in once.

  1. Add a Team Logo, which is optional and can also be set later from Edit Team.
  2. Fill in Name and Description.
  3. Pick a Business Type from Select a Team Type.
  4. Click Create New Team.

You get Team created successfully. and the team page loads. From there, go to Team Invites to add people, which is covered in Inviting members, and what they see when they join.

Who is billed

The plan is charged to the owner's card rather than to the team, so members are never billed and never see an invoice. If you own the team, your billing lives at Settings, then Subscription, the same as it does for any other subscriber.
